Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, totally worn out, shouting "Wow...What a Ride!"

61 Day Alaska Caravan: Day 11 & 12

July 22-23, 2016

Day 11

I'm trying to keep up with my blog reading but sometimes the lack of internet precludes blog reading. If I've missed some of my blog friends posts I do apologize, hope all of you are having a good summer.

Today was another travel day, 109 miles and we were in Hinton Alberta, no sides trips this time just a stop along side of a lake with a huge pullout area. Our campground for the next two nights is Jasper/Hinton KOA, full hookups and the internet and satellite both work here...it's the little things in life.

Our rest stop along the way to Hinton just north of Jasper.
Our day ended with the usual social and  travel meeting, our rigs are numbered so on even days the even folks bring snacks for the social and on odd days the odd folks bring snacks, think they numbered us wrong...Dave for sure is one of the odd balls on the trip.

Day 12

For those who wanted the day started at 6:30am with a trip to the Beaver Boardwalk, Dave and I decided to visit the area in mid morning, no beavers to be seen at either time. We enjoyed the trails even if we saw no wildlife.

Our afternoon plans were to go horseback riding at a local stables, the views were great.

It was  nice to have a not so crazy day, dinner was a cookout provided by the caravan.

The next week we will be covering a lot of miles so this short break in activities was greatly appreciated.

Until next time...

  2. Beautiful scenery. My thoughts too. Dave would be in the odd group. Haha. That's why everyone loves him. Be safe and have fun.

    1. We are enjoying ourselves, if I can keep up with the blog I'll be happy. I can catch up with everyone once we get back in the land of internet.

  4. Just enjoy your trip and not worry about other blogs. The scenery around you is worth stopping and just soaking it in and not in front of a computer.
