Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, totally worn out, shouting "Wow...What a Ride!"

Island Time

We have been kicking back and enjoying ourselves immensely, I don't usually know what day of the week it is just the date and only that because it shows up on the bottom of my screen. Nothing is preplanned here, if it's nice we do happy hour and sometimes a pot luck. Last night we shared ribs we had cooked all day with our group the 6th Street Posse, they turned out great and next year some of the guys are going to get together with Dave and enter the rib cookoff that takes place in Feb. I'm bad because I'm not remembering the camera so sorry there are no pictures.

Dave has finally had a bit of luck fishing.

We only have 5 days left here :( before we head down the road to Goose Island State Park in Rockport where we hope to get a bay side site.

Hope everyone had a good hump day this week too.

Until next time...

  1. You are my last blog comment before heading into the Everglades and no internet for 10 days. Sounds like a great time. I need to find out about this place. There is Dave in no sleeves. Warmer than here for sure. Love the camels picture. Looks like they are saying party time whoo hoo!

    1. Dave may have been is short sleeves that day but there were a lot of times he had long pants on, think the winter has been tough every where this year.

  2. I'm with you on keeping up with the calendar - if I don't look at it on the computer, I sometimes don't what week of the month it is. What a great place to be in life.

    1. Yes it is, not looking forward to VT because we'll have to keep track more since we'll both be working.

  3. Love the colorful camels this week! :)
I think you'll enjoy Goose Island, especially if you can score one of those waterfront sites. If you haven't checked out the Big Tree and the Whooping Cranes yet, you'll be in for a treat :)
If Daves ribs are as good as his pulled pork, he'll win that contest hands down :)

    1. We're enjoying Goose Island, took a bike ride to the Big Tree and are looking for the Whooping Cranes. The ribs are just as good, we'll make you some next time we see you.

  4. If not for the computer, I wouldn't know the date either. Hope you've got the 5'er and truck tied down so that it doesn't fly away tonight.

  5. I'm with you....if not for my computer I wouldn't know what day it is. This wind is pretty crazy - wonder if it's stronger on the island? Here's to warm, sunny weather this weekend :-)

  6. Hey, that's a beauty of a fish Dave caught. What kind of fish is it? A sargeant fish?

Cold and windy here too. Heard some ice pellets or sleet hitting the roof. Brr!

    1. It's a sheepshead fish, seems to be what he catches down here.
